Frequently asked questions

Is Waqfa free?
Yes. Downloading Waqfa is free, and the heart of the app — the Waqfa pause, your daily adhkar, the tap-to-count tasbeeh, streaks, prayer times, and the 99 Names — is free for everyone. A few optional extras (such as additional themes and unlimited Waqfa Lens scans) may be offered as a paid upgrade.
Do I need an account?
No. Waqfa is local-first: everything you track is stored on your own device, with no sign-up, login, or account required.
How does the Waqfa pause work?
Waqfa uses your device’s Screen Time controls to show a short verse before you open the apps you choose. It’s a gentle pause to help you remember Allah before you scroll — never a block, and you can always continue.
Is what I scan with Waqfa Lens kept private?
When you scan a page, the photo is sent securely to our processing service to read the Arabic, used only to suggest adhkar to add, and is not kept afterwards. Full details are in our Privacy Policy. Privacy Policy.
How do I set my prayer times?
Allow location access for automatic times for your city, or set your location manually in Settings. The calculations happen on your device.
Which devices are supported?
Waqfa runs on iOS and Android, on both phones and tablets. Some features, such as the Screen Time pause, depend on capabilities your platform provides.
How do I restore a purchase or manage a subscription?
Any purchase is tied to your App Store or Google Play account. You can restore or manage it from within the app, or from your store account settings.
